Pontotoc County also has accomplished public school systems that provide students with excellent opportunities to continue their education following high school. The University of Mississippi is located just to the west in Lafayette County and Mississippi State University is within close driving distance as well. Furthermore, satellite campuses of Itawamba Community College (Lee), Northwest Mississippi Community College (Lafayette), and Northeast Mississippi Community College (Union) are found in adjacent counties and offer students a variety of post-secondary educational options.
